It's one of my all-time favourites. Apart from the obvious aspect of excellent character development for McGee, one of the things I adore about it is the Ziva we see here. Gosh, I miss her - fun loving in a slightly nasty way, teasing Tony mercilessly about his sperm bank problem and tricking him into revealing the purpose of the phone call! Her character still had "bite" back then, and Cote played it to perfection.
IKR? I just want to cry when Tony's in his apartment and he's telling him he's not cut out to be a field agent. I love how Tony shares that very personal anecdote to make the Probie realize that at one time EVERYONE was a Probie! They've all been through it, and Tony really does understand how he's feeling.
I wanted to write a fic for this review instead, focusing on the continuation of the conversation between Tony and Tim that night, since McGee tells Abby that Tony stayed half the night. But I just ran out of time, and a picspam seemed the easiest thing to do in a hurry. I WILL write it though - the bunny won't leave me alone!
Once the concert weekend is over, things should calm down a little bit, and I'm hoping to go on a writing frenzy! I have so many fics lined up to write, it's getting ridiculous.
And then, I read that the best way to get your stuff noticed on NFA is to participate in their challenges, so I'll have to start producing stuff for some of those too! Whew!
Yeah, the challenges help, and the exchanges (though our next one won't start until September or so). NFA can be a great place, but sometimes it can take a little while to really settle in :)
