Episode Title: Truth or Consequences
Caf-Pow rating: 5/5 Caf Pows

Word Count: 616

Truth or Consequences is one of my favorite episodes of NCIS. There is a little bit of everything in this one. There is, of course, humor. There is team work. There is Vance actually being part of the team. There is Tony showing his maturity by demanding to go find Ziva. There is Abby figuring out the terrorist’s whereabouts by finding his one weakness. There is Gibbs giving Tony what he wants and helping him achieve the goal. There is McGee being so amazing and getting to be more than just the computer geek.

★ HUMOR: Most of the humor comes from the side plot of looking for a replacement for Ziva. Although, the best line of the show is when McGee realizes that Tony is not listening to him and he says, “I’ve been thinking of buying some tight red leather pants. Something that really cradles my butt.”
★ TEAM WORK: I always love to see the team work on NCIS. It is shown best when Tony and McGee get to Somalia and put their plan into action. Everything goes off without a hitch. They finally get Ziva and then the end game is revealed. Gibbs is there to kill the Caf Pow-drinking terrorist from his sniper post in his ghillie suit. He quickly (almost too quickly) gets down to the terrorist camp to make sure Tony, McGee and Ziva get out alive. The best part of this is that Vance actually is part of this team work and actively helps them by getting the jets to fly over and distract the terrorists.

★ TONY: Tony worries and frets about Ziva, but continues to do his job by selecting new agents and investigating the drug case. But one day, he’s had enough. He demands to go find Ziva. Gibbs seems to have been waiting for this to happen and they go talk to Vance. This is when The Plan is hatched.

★ ABBY: Of course, they need Abby to actually find the terrorist and locate Ziva. In a hilarious coincidence, they track him down by finding that he is hooked on Caf Pow and has it delivered to his camp from the U.S.

★ MCGEE: This episode gives McGee a chance to shine, while not seeming to do a whole lot. He goes along with Tony’s plan and lets himself be captured by the terrorists. Then he spends most of the time on the floor pretending to be unconscious, waiting for the right moment to pounce. It shows that McGee is more than just a computer geek. He can do whatever is necessary to get the job done.

★ TIVA: Of course, the whole conversation between Tony and Ziva is one long Tiva moment. I love it.

★ VANCE: I also love the end when Vance starts the round of applause for the team after they return, having rescued Ziva. This is the first episode where I actually liked Vance and felt he was working with and for the team, not just being a bureaucrat.

This is the first episode I saw that wasn't a rerun. I got into NCIS the summer before season 7 and even though I didn't totally understand it on my first viewing, I fell in love with the show from that episode and it's still one of my favorites.

It's impossible not to love this episode, isn't it?

I love your Gibbs icon! It's very unique - I've never seen one quite like it.
