When Worlds Collide...

By now I'm sure just about everyone has heard about the shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC.

In a strange way, it feels like this has hit very close to home, for those of us who are NCIS fans (even though the real NCIS is no longer located at the Navy Yard). It's eerily reminiscent of Harper Dearing's attack. My thoughts & prayers go out to all the victims and their families.

I feel like I need to do something to help me deal with and process this. I suspect a fanfic may be brewing. Just thought I'd throw this out there - if anyone else wants to do something to honour the people who died, or their families, or the first responders, etc. maybe we could all just post those things here, whether they be graphics, fanfics...whatever.

This is a great idea Liz. I'm shocked and saddened to hear about this; it hits way too close to home. I just now heard about it, as I just got home from work not too long ago. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone over there.

This is a great idea. I'll need to give this some thought before I decide what to post.

I was reading about the shootings and it made me think of NCIS, too. I felt like you did - that it was like an attack on part of my family, that it was hitting close to home. I've never had this happen with a fandom. It surprised me a lot how much I really do care about the NCIS team. They are not just characters to me.

Awful news. :o( (Honestly I didn't hear about it before yesterday. My mother watched news and after they talked about the shooting that happened in Europe they talked about this shooting.) Just awful what happens in the world. :o(

I like the idea of fanfictions or graphics.
