Review:
So in going through my NCIS dvd’s I managed to find an episode I’ve not seen before. Well actually I missed a good portion of season 7 but that’s beside the point. So we open on training at the beach and yum. I know, shame on me, objectifying the men, but what can I say? I didn’t like the body on the beach because the head was decomposed and that’s gross. And that fact that he was part of a feeding frenzy just freaks me out. No matter how much I love this show, I never really get past the freaky bodies and the autopsies. That’s one of the reasons I love Ducky and Palmer – they just seem so immune to everything.
I really liked everyone diving for the keys so they could drive the van. Everyone first searching for the keys amused me and of course Gibbs had them. Of course!
And omg since I am typing this as I watch for the first time I am absolutely amused by the coast guard lady slapping her underling on the back of the head. A female Gibbs! I love it! OOO she really is a female Gibbs – talking about her gutt. And I like how Gibbs is kinda impressed with her and what she can do even though her organization is smaller.
I thought there was a decent amount of humor in this episode. I liked when Tony yelled out the Jaws quote. And then Jimmy admitting to Ducky about pretending to sail with Long John Silver at 23 – perfect. I didn’t really like the dumb blonde moment. That’s stupid humor and I figured NCIS was above it.
Awe I love the Gibbs/Abby moments. I always have an ‘awe’ moment when he kisses her forehead. They’re adorable. And I love how Abby puts her foot in her mouth when she starts talking about the Coast Guard lady. She’s done it a few times over the years when they’re working with other groups.
This episode makes me wanna be a treasure hunter. If I could find a ship worth 250 million, well that would be awesome!
I kinda thought this episode was too easy too follow. I mean once Ducky started really doing work on the body from the beginning of the episode I knew it wasn’t going to be who they thought it was. Usually I like when the episode keeps me on my feet and I didn’t find this episode to do that. It was pretty easy to figure out the body was the doctor. Oh well, they can’t all surprise me. And of course the wife was involved. Tony’s gotta get it right sometimes.
Personally I don’t see ‘Tiva.’ I don’t like Tony and Ziva as more than friends because really I think if they dated, they would kill each other. But I liked the end where they were hanging out. It looked fun, big bowl of popcorn and some sodas. I don’t really understand why Ziva had to say they weren’t friends. That seemed a little silly cause they totally are. If they weren’t friends, regardless of their dates canceling, then they wouldn’t have hung out together. So, that weird little flirty banter didn’t work for me. And where was McGee? When I’ve seen Tony play movies before at work, more of the group is there. Why’s they leave him out? I love team-bonding moments and this could have been one had more people enjoyed the movie.
Overall I liked the episode. It wasn’t the best but it certainly wasn’t the worst. I thought it was fun to bring in the Coast Guard because I don’t remember seeing them before. I hope we see more of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love Fornell, but I do like seeing NCIS work with other people. I hope we see more of the Coast Guard lady. She was sassy and I like that actress. It would be fun to have her around. Not all women stand up to Gibbs and to have a female Gibbs was fun. I loved how they said the same things a few times. It was cute. Oh well, enough ramblings from me. I guess I’ll give three caf pows.
